2008 Leatherman Skeletool CX Carbon Fiber Handle Multitool and Knife

I had an old fashioned Leatherman for over ten years.
I thought something lighter would be nice so I purchased one of these.
I bore down on a nut on a riding mower and the pliers snapped off at the hinge joint.
bought it and used the day after directly on our bicycle trip to fix my disc-brakes (together with the tool kit)
perfect!!!
I have the steel skeletool CX, and bought this for my stepson who is a serious cyclist, because every ounce counts when you ride long distances. He reports that the design is great, and its light weight allows him to have an extra margin when he may need it for a quick minor repair.
I just wanted to point out that the reason why this has a different listing than the other model is because the 2008 model has a combo straight/serrated edge blade (which i love). The newer model was switched to just a straight edge blade. its basically just your preference.. but i suggest you get the combo, only because they stopped making them. so they are going to be hard to find.
It’s a simplified Leatherman tool, which in my opinion means they stripped down a lot of unnecesary features, and made a much LIGHTER version that still carries the essentials. I also own the Leatherman Charge Titanium Xti, and this one is A LOT lighter. That works great for somebody like me, who doesn’t want to see his pants starting to fall down from the weight carried on his belt.
