  1. ese just are not strong enough to really do the job I need them to do. They were very inexpensive and for holding a piece of plastic open temporarily they are sufficient, but for really holding the plastic taught, they need a much stronger magnet. Also, they are very easy to lose even though they are bright yellow.

I can’t really recommend these until they get stronger magnets.

  2. I recently had the chance to use these magnets along with the 3rd hand poles to create a dust barrier. In my personal opinion, they are a necessity as they hold the plastic sheeting securely against the pole. Without them, creating a tight partition would be a bit of a chore. Using these magnets make it a couple of minute job

One of the stated uses for these little gems is to create a doorway between poles and it worked just as advertised, this may not seem like a big deal, but consider the alternative of buying the disposable zippers for 25-35 bucks a pack and these save you money on the first outing.

The only issue I had and it was not the products fault, was that my contractor was able to loose 3 of these the first day it was up and they were accidentally thrown out with the plaster rubble. Just make sure they are all present and accounted for before you clean your jobsite.

  3. I ordered 4 sets of these…they make it SO easy to hang plastic sheeting for a dust barrier–even easier than using the magnet heads at the top of the poles. One caution though…they break easily if your pole falls down, so be sure your pole is really tight to the ceiling.

  4. I have been doing some kitchen and house remodel so bought the 3rd hands to help hold various items (molding, light fixtures, dust barriers). the 3rd hands are a great tool, I have had some issues with creating a dust barrier with them since tap doesn’t stick so well to plastic so after awhile parts of the barrier would leave a gap. When I saw these magnetic cap holders I figure for about $7 why not give them a try. they are excellent works just how describe, I liked them so much I went and bought another pair. If you have the 3rd had buy these you won’t regret it.
