  1. I take these to the woods everyday and they have proven invaluable to me while setting up bow lanes and also tracking deer going through thickets. Well worth the money for a QUALITY product.

  2. Ok, i admit i am the anti-thesis of urban crime, i trim plants, bushes and trees that hit me in the face when i walk my dog. there you go, these are great to fit in your pocket or small pack. At 6′++ i trim what the lazy neighbors don’t or can’t reach, as it hits me in the face wehn using the sidewalk. these are good up to about an inch and a half branch and work quick, for an easy get away.

  3. Gerber HD Ratcheting Pruner Review: Many excellent features and first rate quality in material and performance. Ratchet action is really helpful for cutting small but tuff branches. Only negative observation is that the locking mechanism is very stiff. It requires too much force to lock or unlock the pruner. This causes frequent moments of awkwardness with one hand employed holding some twigs or a branch in place while you try to unlock the pruner with the other hand. Often requires letting go of the material to be cut to first use both hands to unlock the pruner. Then, you must regain control of the stuff to be cut. I solved this problem with a single generic tool holster into which I could push the pruner without locking the pruner. Then, as soon as I pull the pruner out, it is ready to make a cut. Do not drop it in the process or the blade may cause damage or injury. Not recommended for children. Requires a mature adult user. Make your cuts on the vegetation well away from your hand holding the vegetation. Overall, I recommend this pruner to adult users. For Gerber, please redesign the locking mechanism so it is easy to operate with one gloved hand. If the present lock was intended to be difficult to keep children from unlocking the pruner, please work some more to find a lock method that is safe and adult user friendly at the same time. Thanks.
