Nail Jack Tools 11NJ Nail Puller, 11-Inch

This is a very well designed tool. Works very well and is far better than anything out there. Fast shipping. A little pricey but worth every penny. A great deal of design attention has gone into this tool and as such is a real time saver. Does far less surface damage than a pry bar (etc).
This tool was just the thing to pull nail from deck planks in order to flip them. Easily grips nails at plank surface. Saved alot of time.
I bought the Nail Jack about 6 months ago and recently used it on a bathroom remodel project. I found that it worked great for pulling all the various kinds of nails I had to deal with. The leverage is great and the ability to “re-grip” at various spots along the length of the nail eliminates the need for a block to remove the nail completely. Because of its flexibility on how and where it grips the nail I find it is the first tool I reach for when I have nails that need to be removed
An update – I spoke with the owner, and he’s committed to standing behind this product, which is a great thing to hear. I’ll be testing a new, improved version soon and plan to provide feedback.

The tool looks like a quality instrument in the pictures, but up close the material quality isn’t very high. I’m not sure if this is hardened steel, but the nail gripping blade is deformed after just a few nails. I was expecting this product to easily stand up to the task of pulling steel nails out of 3 year old 2x framing, and I was disappointed at how quickly it deteriorated – barely a dozen nails pulled and the blade is already damaged. I guess this is related to the fact that its made in Taiwan.
I plan to return this.
The Nail Jack is grate for small nails and staples but larger rusty nails you still have to use a crow bar and or hammer. If you were in the business of pulling nails it would be a good tool to have otherwise it is just another tool in your toolbox.
