Product Description
Curved bar clamp with non-marring swivel pads. Combines speed and convenience with controllable pressure just squeeze to adjust and lock! Easy one-handed operation; quick release trigger. U.S.A.Amazon.com Review
As its name implies, the Handi-Clamp is a handy tool to have around when you need to hold a work piece securely in place while working on it. The lightweight clamp squeezes into place easily and holds fast. Non-marring pads grip the work surface tightly, without damaging it. And a quick-release trigger on the handle makes it easy to remove or readjust the clamp as needed–no screwing, twisting, or tightening, just squeeze and clamp down. A larger, 4-inch version of the Handi-Clamp is available for clamping thicker materials, too. Rule number one in a workshop: You can’t have too many clamps. –Carl Thress… More >>

  1. I like these much better than the spring clamps we all use. It exerts more pressure with an easier release than a spring clamp of similar size. Just squeeze to lock it and it stays put. I used a couple the other day to hold a straight edge for routing dado’s. I cut 3/4 x 1/2 deep runs with no slippage from the clamps. When I was done with each one I just squeezed the release and went on to the next . Lickety split. Nice idea !

  2. I bought mine to hold shop-made jigs in place while routing and sawing. They are very convenient to use. The jaw has a maximum opening of about 2″, but to get a really tight grip, about an 1 1/2″ thick or less works best. I always keep the black release lever on the top handle if I can. Two of these will hold a jig very tightly. The rubber pads will not mar your workpiece or slip.

I have modified a few of my jigs by gluing 400 grit sandpaper to the bottom of the jig with spray-on contact cement so they grip the workpiece better. One finger will release even the tightest grip by pulling up in the black release lever. They are so much easier to use than “C” clamps or even larger Vise Grip bar clamps, which both have to be operated from below the table to assure a lower profile in your work area.

These are tough little clamps that you will find new uses for whenever you’re in the shop. Get several – you don’t want to end up “one clamp short of a set-up.”

  3. The best way to describe this clamps is…It’s like a “c clamp you dont have to thread up and down. Just a quick squeeze and poof, your locked down. The release can be done with one finger, how simple is that?A spring clamp of this size would take some real brawn to line up and clamp. Not this one people, it’s as easy as squeezing toothpaste from a tube.It wont rust or leave those c clamp dimples we all hate. It’ plenty big, wont mar your work and the jaw ends pivot for a good fit.Way to go American Tool, this ones a hit.I cant wait to see whats next. Now get out there and clamp away.

  4. These clamps are my least favorite clamps in my shop. The springs fall out of the handle grip often and need to be replaced (if you can find the darn things). For quick applications they are okay at best. For serious woodworking I recommend paying a few dollars more and get better clamps for your project.

  5. As noted in some of the other reviews, these clamps do not apply that much pressure. As such, they do not work well (or at all)for some applications. When I used them to secure pieces to a workbench for chiseling, they would lose their grip after a limited number of strokes.

That said, these clamps work very well in other situations. I find that these are the best clamps for securing plywood to sawhorses when cutting with a jig or circular saw. They can be applied and removed within seconds, speeding up the work flow immensely. These clamps would be worth purchasing for that application alone.
