Product Description
SOG Knives Trident Black TiNi, The SOG Trident uses our well-proven means of delivering a knife blade to the open position with S.A.T. (SOG Assisted Technology) Now using our patent pending Arc-Actuator, the Trident locks stronger and releases easier. There is also a built-in safety to lock the blade closed. What also makes the Trident so unique is the patent pending Groove in the handle, which allows the operator to cut paracord, fishing line, etc. without having to open the blade. The handle also includes a Digi-Grip variable pattern for coarser grip in areas that require it. Our bayonet style clip is easily switched for right/left hand carry or removed for pouch storage. SOG Specialty Knives & Tools Black TiNi TF-10 Trident Digi Camo Knife

very high quality knife for the money.
SOG’s locking mechanism is very secure and easy to use. the assisted opening is smooth and fast. after a day of messing around, i could open and close the knife with both hands as easy as scratching my behind
the blade is a good size and cuts through most things well. however, i personally would prefer a sharper blade
SOG’s zytel handle grips well and sits comfortably in my medium/large paws
the WORST part of this knife for me was the extra opening for cutting string/etc . . . unless you are cutting thin twine or fishing line it doesnt work very well
the BEST part of the knife, besides the lock action, is the clip. people see it and think, how in the turkey gravy are you going to concealed carry a knife with a 5″ handle? simple. it is very thin and the clip is on the very end of the handle. it slips into your pants, leaving only the attractively styled “SOG” clip hanging out. the clip for mine (black TiNi) is also a dull black, hiding it from all but the most prying knives.
the clip is also NOT somewhere in the middle of the knife, a rather ridiculous feature of some CKRT, buck, and camillus knives. why would you EVER want 1/4 of your knife sticking out for the world to see? not to mention some of the knives from those manufacturers are almost as fat as a hot dog sausage. before i owned my knife i never really knew what to look for. now that i have my SOG that tucks securely into my pocket and out of prying eyes, i get a laugh out of other not-as-well thought out knives . .
SOG is a great product for the money. jsut to try out different and better things, my next knife shall be a benchmade.
Bought this knife for a friend being deployed to Iraq. Thouight the idea of a knife that blended in with the desert camo uniform would be nice. Good thing I took it out to look at it before wrapping it. Folded it looked okay but when you opened it the blade wiggled back and forth about a sixteen of an inch in each direction. This knife definitely does not live up to the SOG reputation.I presently have 4 different SOG products and all are great. This was a real dissapointment especially with a $65.00 price tag. It went back!
Pros:
Great blade shape
Awsome locking system (Never will buy another liner lock again)
Sits low in your pocket
Handle is the perfect size and is extremly grippy
Light
Cons:
Significant blade play. When screw is tightened to eliminate blade play the spring in no longer strong enough to open the blade.
The slit in the handle is pretty much useless.
Overall: At about half the quality of top tier folders (Strider, Extrema Ratio, Zero Tolerance) and a quarter of the price this knife offers great durability and quality for the cost.
I bought this for my husband. He always breaks knives left and right. This has an AUS8 Blade which has a Rockwell hardness of 57-79 which is 1.5 times harder than 440 stainless. it’s easy to open and close. and it has a safety.
perfect knife for everyone.
So I received this knife about 10 minutes ago and well.. I’m not happy at all. I should have listened to David M. LePage Sr.’s review. He was right on about the quality of the knife. I was hoping that he maybe he received a bad unit. Not so or maybe, I received his return as it does appear this knife is “used”. I will be posting some pictures before i send it back tomorrow. I also own SOG Specialty Knives & Tools TFSA-98 Flash II 1/2 Serrated, Black TiNi And it’s a far superior knife.
