  1. I got the Stanley 10-799 as a Christmas stocking stuffer gift from my wife. Its a great looking, well balanced knife. But the functionality is poor. To begin with the blade does not retract as the picture would lead you to believe, it’s fixed. There is no way in the world to change blades easily, especially while wearing work gloves. You can’t simply hang this knife on your shop peg board hook, it has no hole in the handle. A very poor design. btw, I told my wife it’s perfect….shhh

  2. its a great knife ! It looks good, feels good, but does not retract.

  3. OK, the description does say “fixed blade,” but there is a very large picture accompanying the Product Description that says “3-position retractable.” I wanted retractable and that’s why I purchased it. Need to take that picture down, for those of us who are relying on such things for information.

  4. Hate having to pull out a screw driver to replace blades in your utility knife??? Well this solves the problem. It’s a bit big so impractical to tuck into your back pocket. But it’s comfotable to hold, nice shape and needs no tools to swap out blades.

  5. Ya seen one utility knife, ya seen ‘em all, right? Nope. This one is much more comfortable, and blade changes are super-easy.
