Waterpik Water Massage 3-Mode Hand-Held White Showerhead #JM-351

It is easily installed and works well but could be not so heavy
Cheaper isnt necessarily better. This one was really cheap, cheaply made. Plastic water massage handle seemed really cheap plastic and the hose…was super stiff, couldnt get it to hang straight down.
Here’s the breakdown:
Pros:
- 3 Modes of shower massage
- Nice aesthetics
- Good water pressue
- Nice, strong hose should provide good longevity
Cons:
- Liberal amount of Teflon tape required at the connection between the shower pipe and waterpik to minimize leakage. Sure, I could get my gorilla pipe wrench on there and go medieval with the tightening, but the parts are plastic and the potential of breakage is high.
- Where the waterpik handle sits on the holder is a hexagonal (or might be octagonal, whichever) bolt, while the plastic holder itself is just round.
– Because of the mismatched shapes, the waterpik never sits properly/snuggly into the holder. On more than a few occasions, I’d gotten sprayed unexpectedly when switching the water from the tub to the waterpik because the sudden rush of water would jolt it enough to shift the non-snug sitting showerhead position and I get sprayed and water gets on the floor instead of staying in the tub.
– The frustration of the improper fitting is further exacerbated due to having a strong/rigid hose. With the rigidity of the hose and the improper fit of the holder, you can never really lock-in the position you want for the waterpik while you’re showering.
- Even when using it more as a handheld showerhead, adjusting the direction of the water flow can also be frustrating because of that rigid hose. Either the hose just won’t “give” to the position you want, or you end up loosening the connection between the hose and shower-pipe or the hose and the Waterpik.
I’m a simple shower type guy, a regular showerhead is just fine for me. We bought this Handheld because of it being such a reasonable price, as well as liking the idea that it could be used in the mounted position for those “regular” showers, or having the option of using it handheld.
The fatal flaw(s) with this product is that; a simple difference between the shape of the Waterpik’s hex/oct-agon bolt and the round holder it’s supposed to fit in, is causing a non-snug fit which makes for some frustrating situations. And what should be a feature in having a strong hose turns into a nuisance because of being so rigid.
If you’d be using this Waterpik more as a handheld, with the different massage settings, then the negatives aren’t as bad…But if you’re more like me, being a “regular” shower person and would only use it as a handheld every so often, then you’re likely to be in the same frustration scenario as I am and I would recommend looking at something else (I wish I did).
I’m on holiday in the USA and will be using this product on my return to India next month. I am particularly happy that it came as a complete kit, ready to use ideal for DIY fans. Unfortunately I have not been able to try it here but feel I will not face any problems with it. Would be happy to give a review from there after using it.
Cannot really rate it, because I’ve received defected item. Returned it to Amazon pretty quick with full refund and no shipping charges. 1 star to product, 5 starts to Amazon customer service.
